March 2022: Subscriber Update

Life has been busy! As I near the end of my clinical rotations and approach graduation, the website and email campaigns have fallen to the wayside. However, I'm looking forward to having more time soon to return to making the resources that I'm so passionate about providing. I appreciate all the support from those of you that follow by email or social media, and am eager to see what the future holds. In case you missed it, several newer blog posts are linked below.
In particular, I'm excited to announce that the Newsletter will be kicking off late this month or early April with a monthly research recap from several major veterinary academic publications, as well as a legislation watch for upcoming national and notable state-level bills pertaining to companion animals or veterinary medicine.

New DCM study shows improvement of heart function with diet change.


Published 03/17/22, a prospective study from leading researchers provided further evidence that non-traditional diet types may lead to reversible cardiac abnormalities and progress to DCM.

Survey showing "no increase in DCM cases with rise of grain-free sales" not what it seems


The data behind the enthusiastic pet industry headlines leaves much to be desired. Only 14 referal centers responded, and half provided four or less years of data on cases. Major research centers were not represented.
